Smoked Mac and Cheese
Ultra-creamy macaroni with a golden wood-fired top.

Ingredients
- 1 lb elbow macaroni
- 4 tbsp butter
- 4 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 3 cups whole milk, warmed
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar
- 1 cup shredded smoked Gouda
- 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack
- 1 tsp mustard powder
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ cup panko
- 2 tbsp melted butter
Instructions

Cook macaroni 2 minutes less than package directions. Drain without rinsing.

Melt butter in a saucepan, whisk in flour and cook 1 minute. Slowly whisk in warm milk and cream until smooth and thickened.

Remove from heat and melt in cheddar, Gouda and Monterey Jack with mustard and garlic. Fold in the pasta.

Transfer to a buttered pan. Combine panko with melted butter and scatter over the top.

Smoke uncovered at 300°F for 30–40 minutes until bubbling with a golden top. Rest 10 minutes before serving.
